This would be a newborn puppy from Taylor's infamous nine-puppy litter December 26, 1997. You can read about this exceptional bitch on Taylor's Page

This is Merlin, about seven weeks. Merlin hailed from the nine-puppy litter and was one of the sweetest puppies. He grew to be an exceptional adult, too, not to mention beautiful. Please take a look at Merlin's Magic Page

All snuggled together for a nap, these two blues are from Taylor's litter. Maybe ten days or two weeks old...

A beautiful puppy boy, 3 weeks. He became called "Cowboy" but when sold was dubbed "Teddy". This boy has a blue sister we called Sasha, who is marked nearly exactly like him, except for the black around the eye- His is on the right, hers on the left.

We called this cutie Bubbles- about 4 weeks here and one of the most irresistible puppies of my time. She, too hails from that nine-puppy litter.

Hey, look! What is this stuff?

This is what I call "puppy mush", a concoction of puppy kibble, milk replacer and canned puppy food, all soaked together, to soften the kibble.

Mmmmmm........ <slurp smack>
I dunno but it smells good!

Once puppies start eating "mush" and are merely snacking on mama, water replaces the milk and moisture reduced until they are eating straight, dry kibble.

Yeah, and this stuff tastes good, too!

Feeding puppies solid food for the first time is a mess- they'll stand in it and lay in it, but let Mama back in and she cleans them up nicely.

The nine-puppy litter you've heard  tell of- Less Angel, of course. The tri-colors are Buster, Ben, Chloe and Bubbles, the blues Sasha, Cowboy, Merlin and Nathan.

One thing about young puppies, for a couple of weeks they just nurse and sleep. As they get stronger they wobble around on uncooperative legs, exhausting work. They begin to really play by about five weeks - staggering and trying on their little barks.

This is Cole as a brand-new puppy. You almost miss the tan on the muzzle and over the eyes, but he is a tri-color. It is hard to imagine that plain, black face turning into the exceptional and expressive headpiece he possesses as an adult.
