Ailea Moonstone "Onyx" (Can. CH Bonnyville Fairfax Nighthawk, ROM, ROMC x St. Magnus Ailea Moonstruck, 04/03/00) is pictured right at five years of age and in a beautiful, full bloom. I fell in love with Onyx when she was just a tiny, little girl. It was she, for whom I had waited, all those litters!
Onyx is 14-1/2", white-factored, non-bi-factored, has truly natural ears, a pretty eye, clean, smooth, lean headpiece, with a graceful arch of neck, wonderful depth of chest, and beautiful balance. She is CERF normal, OFA Excellent, vWD (DNA) clear, and has one of those exceptionally sweet temperaments which she passes on to her puppies in full. Onyx is currently our only bed buddy, despite my allergist's wish that no dogs share the bed . . . Who can resist just ONE, I ask?
Onyx has produced some lovely and promising puppies and was bred for a litter which whelped June 17, 2006. Though the puppies are young yet, it is very hard to not be excited about this promising litter, the first in nearly two years for Onnie, and the first litter physically available at Ailea's Place in more than five years!!
The sire selected for this litter was Wistwin Adonis, a Ch Homewood Hurricane, ROM son out of a Ch Macdega Asterisk, ROM daughter. This litter is co-bred with Angel Maria, of Amatras Shelties, and it is a thrill to share such a promising litter of puppies with such a promising up-and-comer in the breed.
