~ News and Updates ~

Ailea is no longer breeding and no longer actively
participating in dog sports, although remains a First Class Advocate for the
Sheltie in particular, and the sport of dogs in general. If you are looking to
acquire a Sheltie, please visit the
Triangle
Shetland Sheepdog Club online, or contact
Krystn
Messer, the sheltie breeder referral person for central North Carolina. You
may also find a breeder in your area by visiting the
American Shetland Sheepdog Association
online.

New at Ailea's Place
Thursday, December 11, 2008:
***I
fancied up the opening page of Ailea's Place, a reflection of the upcoming
Christmas holiday. Me hope-a you like-a.
***The
Christmasy first page is not all... For Christmas this year I have found a new
host for my web sites, and today is the first official day in Ailea's new
home... Figured with all completely re-done pages it would be awesome special to
update where all my B.S. lives. Please let me know if anything doesn't work or
runs slow, or presents any other kinds of problems for you.
New at Ailea's Place
Wednesday, December 10, 2008:
***Well.
The new page, "HELP!
My Sheltie Ran Away! What Do I Do?" has been re-written and formatted and
uploaded to this newly renovated site. One of those things I just overlooked
when I did the re-format earlier this year. I encourage everyone to bookmark
this area of Ailea's Place so if the time ever comes when you lose one of yours,
or someone you know loses one of theirs, the information is readily available
and easily found.

At
right is our most beautiful grandchildren, Hannah and 'BJ' (an
abbreviation for William Jacob Jr). Hannah was 3 years and BJ 7 months old
when this picture was taken.
You can see more pictures of these two
most loved and wonderful grandchildren on their own pages

BJ

NOTE: If you have
acquired a sheltie from Ailea Shelties
or Ailea's Place, please read
Ailea's Open Letter.

Ailea's More Notable News Archives
November 19, 2008:
***One of Ailea's most favored and wonderful
died quite suddenly Saturday night. More information can be found on
Token's Page.
***I have added some
new photographs to my favorite photo pages... Hope you will enjoy the Fall, 2008
photos to be found in
Amy's Photo Gallery.
***I have made some
changes in both
Rookie's Page and her place on
Ailea's Rainbow Bridge page. It was a sad but love-filled task, and I found
that even now, more than two years later, I am still left in tears at our loss
of this wonderful ol' gal.
October 27, 2008:
The obvious is the new format of this entire web site - a work that has
been in progress since June of 2006. Yes, you read correctly, June 2006. That I
have finally gotten here is nothing short of a miracle. That the pages are all
complete is dang near impossible to believe! I encourage everyone to look
around, even those who are returning for the tenth or hundredth time - you are
liable to find new things tucked here and there... admittedly mainly in the
"Meet Amy" portion of these pages, but elsewhere, as well.
2008:
***Prices on the
Sheltie books and magazines offered her for sale have been slashed! If
you're missing copies of older Pacesetters, Internationals or ASSA Handbooks,
you should check it out. There is also available an autographed copy of
Catherine Coleman-Moore's book, "The Shetland Sheepdog." Not only are signed
copies no longer available, but the book itself is now out-of-print. There are
also three copies of the original "A Garland Of Shelties," published in 1998.
***The "Meet
Amy" pages are back, and all of the personal information on this site has
been well expanded. I think everyone who enjoys visiting Ailea's Place for the
"whole picture" will thoroughly enjoy the new focus of Ailea's Place.
October, 2006:
Ailea has added a
For Sale page which offers my
Sheltie books and magazines for sale. If you're looking to find one or two
issues of the Pacesetter or International to complete your set, or you're
looking for a particular older ASSA Handbook you may find something here. In
addition I have several copies of the very first "A Garland of Shelties", which
was published in 1998...
September, 2006:
Check out my page on where we live -
Chatham County!
August, 2006:
I have lifted the copyright protection from my pedigree pages so any of you
interested can easily copy or print the pedigree information for yourselves, as
you wish, without having to wait on me to get the pedigree to you. All other
pages, images and files, however, will remain copyright protected. Thank-you for
understanding, respect and support of all my efforts and hard work.
