~ Ailea's Open Letter ~
If you, or someone you know, has
acquired a Sheltie from Ailea Shelties or Ailea's Place, Dear Ailea Pet Home: I write at this time to inform you I have stopped breeding Shelties. A serious childhood allergy to dogs and most pollens, dusts and molds has decided to reoccur, causing me critical allergen overload. This, in addition to other health issues I deal with has proven too much. In the allergy department, the one thing over which I did have control was dog numbers and that had to be reconciled, in addition to the "clean air" steps we have taken at home. As a result, no more puppies, and no more than two dogs at Ailea's Place at one time. I had originally thought perhaps ongoing desensitization therapy (allergy shots) would turn things around, but they have not, nor do I think they ever will. I pray this finds you and any Ailea Sheltie you may have, doing well, and I wish to assure you that should anything arise about which you have any questions or concerns, I am still here for you, will continue to be here for you, and welcome you to contact me. Please remember there is no possible way I could provide another Sheltie, but that does not relieve my responsibility to you or your Ailea Sheltie. Being there for you, and doing what I can within the limits of any sales contract will always be an outstanding debt I owe you. It is possible, if you are looking to acquire a Sheltie and want something that originated through Ailea, let me know. There are a couple of breeders whose bloodlines include Ailea's, who may have puppies or adult Shelties available for consideration.
With all best wishes to you and yours,
