~ More Anthony ~

I am lucky, I think, to have the family I do. I admit my first choice in a
spouse was a bit off-center, but without that I would not have my children, and
I really don't know what I would do without Anthony Wayne...
There's a few good pictures of Anthony on
his main page but I figured I'd add a pictorial history here for everyone's
enjoyment-

This handsome
young man is about 8 or so months old, grinning like a Cheshire cat for
the camera.
This would
be spring-summer-ish 1983, and the baking's about half done with Sarah
in the oven... |

Ditto,
time-frame for this one. Here he is climbing through the legs of the
high chair at his Mamaw's and Papaw's house, which is where he stayed
while I worked during the first year or so of his life. |

YIKES! 15 months
old with a broken leg. He lay in traction 10 days. Broke his leg the day
after I came home from the hospital with Sarah, so shipped her off to
mom's so I could stay at the hospital with Anthony... Looks forlorn in
this photo but by the time they took him out of traction he was twisting
and turning himself over and back and forth like it was nothing. |
|

When they took
him out of traction they put him into a "spica" cast- from under his
arms to the toes on the broken leg side, and down to the knee on the
other, to immobilize the hips. He stayed in the cast not quite 6 weeks
and by the time they cut it off him he was traveling with the best of 'em.
Even here, fresh out of the hospital, he is... just... as happy a boy as
he could be. |

Lessee, this
would be Anthony at 3 and Sarah around 18 months or so. An Olan Mills'
special...
These were two of the cutest kids on
earth, don't you agree? |
|

YIKES again!
Fall, 1990
Neighbor's dog
bit his face, laying it wide open. My goodness I was frightened!
He was 8. |

October, 1990
Healed up in time for a great
Dracula for Halloween that year, wouldn't you say? |
|

Fall, 1990, 8 years old |

PEACE OUT!
Summer, 1992
10 years old |
|

AWESOME!
Don't remember
what the gift was - his own boombox maybe? - but he was VERY happy with
it!
Christmas, 1994 |

Summer, 1995
Nelson Family

The Farm,
Ward Hill, Proctorville |

Winter, 1995/96
Thirteen-ish
It was a snow day and they
were playing Sumo Wrestler... |
|

Spring, 1996
Like mother, like son?
That's a real, live wild Mustang my cousin tamed and broke to
saddle |
|

Easter, 1998
It's not really an ugly face he's making - it's
just bright and sunny all up in our faces...
|

Graduation - June, 2000 |
|

August, 2008, 26 years old
Measures in at
about 6' 5" and weighs probably more than 250...
You feel safe when you're around a young man this size, so long as you
don't confess what a teddy bear he is! |
