The Prince of

Today at 4:00 PM Pat and I lost the best dog
we've ever had, our obedient friend and leader of the pack. Prince just ran
out of time, his heart gave out, and he's crossed to Rainbow Bridge. He was
a special Sheltie with nothing but love in his heart. I've never had a
better friend. I can hardly believe he's gone, but I believe I will see him
again someday. For those of you with dogs, love them while you can
especially your favorite.

Bailey, we found you on an Amish Farm and you
immediately stole our hearts. We brought you back to
Cape Cod and fell in love with you.
Bailey, you were unique in so many ways. You
brought us such joy we could never thank you enough. Bailey, you captured
the hearts of everyone from babies to elderly people. Your personality was
always one of giving and pleasing.
We never had heard of the terrible disease GME
until you started to show signs we did not recognize. We had you only for a
month when the disease started. You fought a brave fight all the way until
you finally died in my arms October11, 2006.
You had such a short 16 months but have left an
everlasting impression on everyone. Dad, myself and your sister Michaelie
will never be the same. When you died you took a piece of our hearts with
you. Our only consolation is knowing you are at peace.
With all
our love,
Mom, Dad and Michaelie (Sheltie) |

"Blue"
I want to tell you about
our son
we lost in
July very suddenly, this year at 11 years old. He was very loving, warm,
always looked directly at you with his eyes when you talked to him, a
protective and true friend. He was very proud, confident and very sure
of himself. He was my wife’s protector and constant companion, they
bonded from day one. He could tell if someone had cancer and would go
sit next to them as if to say
“Hi
I am here to bring happiness to you right now, everything will be
ok”. He loved everyone, let us know when something was wrong or things
were not normal. Everyone that met him said he touched their heart and
felt as if they had known him forever. It’s very difficult to write
about him as I start crying as I miss him everyday.
His name was Blue and he came into our
lives in October 2005. To this day I remember the first time I met him
at the baggage claim at the airport. My wife flew to Portland and spent
the day with him to make sure everyone would get along. She fell for him
right off the bat. He came to us through a sheltie rescue group and we
never have regretted that decision. During the 9 months he was with us
it felt like he had been with us forever, loosing him was like loosing a
very close family member and friend, which he will always be. He had a
hard life before he came to his foster mom and finally on to us. He was
very magical and we will never forget him, nor will our friends. I am
convinced we will meet again someday. Now he has no more aches or pains
and is at his prime.
We love and miss
you Blue.

…I’m Still Here…
(Rainbow Bridge Version)
By Mariesa Richardson (c) 2006
Wherever you are tonight close your eyes,
Can you see me there?
Listen to the evening breeze, it's me comforting you,
As I gently nuzzle your hair
Drift off to dream as night surrounds you,
I'm snuggled at your feet
I know I've been your pride and joy,
My heart is yours to keep
For I'm still here for you,
With never ending love
And though we aren't together now,
I'm watching from above
So dry your tears, smile for me,
Let go your sorrow too
For I am home, peace is mine,
And I'm not lost to you
Look up to the skies above,
God's angels are here with me
And I'm your puppy angel now,
My spirit is light and free
So remember, don't be sad,
Cherish this message I send
I'm right here waiting at Rainbow Bridge,
Where love will never end

Dad and I miss your wagging tail everyday when
we come home, and the way you always lay at our feet in the evening. You
were always with one of us, following behind us or laying beside us.
We remember the fun times when you would put
your toys at our feet and beg us to play with you. And of course your
favorite was playing catch with your ball. Dad kept your ball in honor of
you; it is with your picture in the living room.
We know this last year you were not feeling
well, but you still managed to keep your tail wagging and always showed us
your unconditional love. We miss you terribly but we are comforted knowing
you are no longer in any pain and suffering.
Until we meet again, lots of love and hugs,
Mom and Dad |

Kassidy of Amhurst

Kassidy was our little nudger. She
was always using her nose to nudge us when she wanted attention then she
would flop over so her belly could be rubbed. She had never been out of
the yard without being on a leash. We had been camping for the weekend
and the travel trailer is the only place our furkids are allowed on the
furniture. Kassidy was always laying by me, even my sister commented on
it. When we arrived home, I was letting the furkids out of the car one at a time while parked in the alley and my husband was at the backyard
gate to let them in. When it came Kassidy's turn, the neighbor drove up
and stopped quickly when he saw us and scared Kassidy. After searching
for many hours she was finally found by the pound the next morning. She
had been hit by a car and left on the side of the road a few miles from
home. We are devastated she had to die that way, so young, so scared and
so alone. Mandy & Shadow (our two other shelties) miss her terribly,
too. I still break down when I have to drive down the area she must have
ran through. I'm not sure I will ever think of her without getting
tears in my eyes. She will always be in our hearts.
We will always love and miss you, Kassidy ~
